It seems so far, but it is so close
What are all the travel options? Traveling to Sunne is easier and more fun than you think!
No matter where you live in the Netherlands, it is not difficult to get to Sunne. However, it is helpful to know how. Below, I will tell you about some options. Sunne is located in the province of Warmland (Värmland in Swedish). Sweden and Norway are EU countries, so a valid identity card is sufficient.
By car
To fly
Met de auto of camper is eigenlijk heel recht-toe recht aan. De rit op zich is een absolute aanrader en er zijn opties: Hallo keuzestress;)
Ga je de hele rit rijden met de auto, reken dan op ongeveer 17 uur totale rijtijd, gerekend vanaf Rotterdam. Je kunt halverwege een overnachting boeken in Duitsland, Denemarken of Malmö. Mocht je dat willen. We kunnen het Scandic hotel in Malmö absoluut aanraden. Ben je meer van de hostels? die zijn er onderweg geneoeg!
Het voordeel van rijden is dat je het kunt indelen hoe je wilt en kan blijven waar je wilt. Misschien wil je het bekende Malmö of Gothenborg bezoeken.
Leuk weetje: Gothenborg spreek je in het Zweeds uit als: 'Jeu-tebeurjeh'.
Het is een prachtige rit. Let op: je moet tol betalen om over de brug van Denemarken naar Zweden te mogen. De brug is een belevenis opzich. Verder is het bijna 1 lange rechte weg.
Auto-Boot
Je kunt ook kiezen voor een overtocht met de boot. Daar zijn verschillende opties voor. De meeste luxueuze ervaring krijg je met een lange tocht van Kiel (Duitsland) naar Gothenborg (zweden) met bijvoorbeeld Stena-Line. Maar je kunt het ook simpeler houden en van andere plekken in noord-Duitsland varen naar lager gelegen plaatsen in Zweden. Soms pakt dit leucratief uit. Er zijn tochten waar je om 10 uur savonds op de boot kan en smorgens aankomt in Malmö. Zo reis en slaap je tegelijk, en vermijd je de tolbrug. De organisatie hier van heet Finnlines en vaart bijvoorbeeld vanuit Trellenborg.
Camper
Kom je met de camper, dan kan je onderweg talloze campings tegenkomen. Ook kan je jouw camper gebruiken als slaapplek tijdens de training als je dat wilt. Ook een camper kan op een boot. Vanaf het moment dat je in Zweden aankomt mag je overal je camper parkeren en slapen. Een tent kan natuurlijk ook. Let op! In Zweden bestaat 'allemansrecht'. je mag infeite overal komen. Maar zonder te storen of verstoren!
Sweden is large and airports are limited, so there are many transport options available from the airport. This is well organized and inexpensive. You can rent a car and drive to the location in 2.5 hours. You can also choose the train. These are the most common ways to travel from Oslo Airport, the nearest airport.
You do need to book the train journey in advance. A return flight doesn't have to be expensive, especially if you can travel with only hand luggage. We prefer booking via cheaptickets.nl. That is often considerably cheaper than on the KLM website. But by all means, do your own research.
You land in Norway and arrive in Sweden on the 'SJ' train, but don't worry. Public transport is well organized, and the people are friendly and helpful. Everyone also speaks good English. I can be on standby to assist you during your journey if needed.
Step 1. Train to Oslo Central:
Once you have landed, chances are you will immediately be delighted by the small, manageable airport and Norwegian hospitality. After passing through the gates and standing in the main hall, walk to the right and you will see the entrance to 'flygtåget'. That means 'the airplane train'. It is super easy to buy a return ticket (save this for the return journey); it runs to Oslo Central every fifteen minutes. This is the fastest and easiest option. You can also choose the cheaper local train.
Step 2. Train from Oslo to Arvika:
There is plenty to see in Oslo, and the station is right next to the beautiful city center. There is also an indoor shopping mall and plenty of places to eat and drink. If you need to entertain yourself for a bit, that is no problem at all there. Furthermore, beneath the clear (huge) travel board, there is a help desk for the train you will be taking to us.
You will need to book the train trip to Sweden in advance. These 2-hour trips are cheap, relaxed, and very beautiful. These are special trains, and you can easily book via the SJ App.
These trains are therefore called SJ-tåget (the SJ train). You can easily download this app from your app store or book via https://www.sj.se/en . Your destination will be Arvika Central (we can pick you up there if necessary). If you do not order via the app, make sure you print your tickets or can show them on your app, as they will be checked. A trip costs approximately 100 Swedish krona (converted to +- 9.50 on June 1, 2024*). You book the outward and return journeys separately.
These are the converted currencies at that moment, so this may change. You can always check for yourself how much a coin is currently worth.
ALTERNATIVE:
There is a new connection between Eindhoven Airport and Oslo. But also between Eindhoven and Stockholm and between Gothenburg and Amsterdam. Take advantage of it.
